History:
Bulle (Butulum) is mentioned for the first time in history in 855. In the 12th century, Bulle belongs to the bishop of Lausanne, wo had a fight with the duke of Gruyeres about the market rights. Partially because of these fights the city of Bulle was founded in the 13th century with a castle. In 1447 and 1805 a fire destroyed a big part of Bulle, but both times the castle was not involved.
Actual:
In the city live about 17000 people. Every year the is a national dog event (cani'bulle) in juni.
Interesting:
In 1981 Bulle became a direct access to the highway network, this was a very important milestone for the economy.
