History:
During the roman time, Chur was the capital city of the area "Raetia Prima". Around the year 400 the first Cathedral was build. In 1464 the first of several big city fires occurred.
Actual:
The town has about 35000 inhabitants. Chur has the highest average temperature of all cities in Switzerland.
Interesting:
When the canton Graubunden joined the Swiss confederation, Chur became the capital city of the canton, although Ilanz and Davos also compete with Chur for this.
