History:
In 1201 Olten is mentioned fro the first time. Archeological remains proof that Olten already exists during the Roman time. In the middle ages Olten is a transition town (the bridge over the river Aare). In 1653 Olten looses there city-rights, because they agreed with the Huttwiler farmers during the farmer war, which the farmers lost.
Actual:
Olten has almost 18000 inhabitants and is today an important railway centre in Switzerland. The most photos and webcams of Olten are added in 2008.
Interesting:
If you stay in Olten or the neighbourhood, you must have seen the Aare-bridge. Also the city-tower in the old centre is very beautiful.
