History:
Schaffhausen was mentioned for the first time in history in 1045 as: villa Scafhusun. In 1501 Schaffhausen joined the Swiss confederation. Partially because of the Boatrights repeal on the Rhine, Schaffhausen had a hard time in the beginning of the 19th century.
Actual:
The town has about 35000 inhabitants. Every year at the beginning of September there is a wine tasting: Schaffhuuser Wiiprob.
Interesting:
The city has 171 oriel windows. At the 1st April 1944, the city was mistakenly bombed by the americans.
