History:
During the roman time vevey (Viviscus) was a transition -place / -harbour, along the armee street. In the middle ages vevey had several rulers: Bischof of Lausanne / dukes of Genf / the familie Savoyen / the city Bern. In 1798 vevey joined the Waadt revolution and became loose of the Bern occupation.
Heute:
The city has about 16000 inhabitants. The most photos and webcams of Vevey are added in 2008.
Interesting:
The big winery feast of Vevey is organised only four or five times per century by the "Confrérie des Vignerons". Charlie Chaplin lived his last 24 years in Switzerland and dyed in Vevey.
