History:
The old german word "Wang(en)" means: a land at the bottom end of a slope. In 1400 the castle is build by the family Kyburg. In the middle ages Wangen an der Aare with his Aare-bridge was a transition and custom place for the boats on the Aare.
Heute:
Wangen an der Aare has about 2000 inhabitants. The most photos and webcams of Wangen an der Aare are added in 2008.
Interessant:
From the textile manufacturers, which were already mentioned in 1748 as horse-hair manufacturers, only the brand Roviva still exists.
