History:
In 1201 Zofingen was founded by the count of Froburg. Zofingen was in the possesion of Bern from 1415, until Zofingen changed in 1803 to the canton of Aargau. The market "die Mauritiusmesse" was visited from buyers and dealers even from Frankfurt am Main (Germany) and the canton wallis and France. Die Ringmauern wurde zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhundert (wie bei vielen anderen Städten) abgerissen.
Actual:
The town has about 10000 inhabitants. The most photos and webcams of Zofingen are added in 2008.
Interesting:
The city-hero Niklaus Thut saved in 1386 at the battle of Sempach the flag of Zofinger while he was dying.
