In 374 the city Basilea(Basel) is mentioned for the first time in historical documents. The pope Pius II., founded in 1460 the university. Basel-Mulhouse was in 1946 the first double-nation airport of the world.
Maintenant:
Basel has about 190 000 inhabitants.
Intéressant:
Novartis and Roche are the biggest companies. The boutcher Bell introduced with his illegal "Morgenstreich" in 1833 the traditional carnaval start in Basel.
