Histoire:
After Julius Caesar concers Gallien, he builds on the place of the actual city Nyon the Colonie "Iulia Equestris" with Nyon (Noviodunum) as centre. The count of Savoyen builds in the 13th century the on the roman ruins a castle (Actual: Musée Historique et des Porcelaines).
Maintenant:
The city has almost 18000 inhabitants. The houses with the arcades at the Marktplatz are reminders of the time that Bern rules the city starting from the 16th century.
Intéressant:
The Toblerone way (walking way), is a triangle like antitank barrier from the second world war, the so called «Promenthouse-Linie», which comes along several nature reservations.
